The Tamale District Court ‘2’ in the Northern region has banned two students involved in impersonation during the 2015 West Africa Senior Schools Certificate Examinations (WASSCE), for three years.

The students cannot participate in any form of examination organized by the West African Examination Council for the next three years.

The students, Yusuf Alhassan and Abubakar Sidique Iddrisu, were also fined GH¢1,800 each by the court presided by His Worship, Augustine Essah on Wednesday, November 4.

The two students pleaded guilty for conspiracy to commit crime as per section 23 (1) of the Criminal Offence Act 1960 and impersonation as per section five (A) of the West African Examination Council regulation.

The prosecutor, Inspector Osei Owusu, said the police was informed about the impersonation by invigilators and upon investigation, they were arrested and brought before the court for judgment.
