A two-year-old girl fell off of a trotro mini bus to her death Saturday at Essipong in the Western Region.
The girl, Princess Nhyira Andoh, and her mum were travelling from Shama to Sekondi when the freak accident happened.
The driver’s mate was said to have opened the door for a passenger who was sitting next to the girl and close to the mate, to alight when the bus got to Essipong.
Nhyira, according to witnesses, fell off of the bus, and the rear tyre of the vehicle, which was till in motion, ran over her.
She was taken to a health facility close to the St. Benedict hospital and she was referred to the Effia Nkwanta regional hospital but died on arrival.
She has since been buried.
Her mother, Glady’s Asmah, told Police her daughter was sick and that they had gone to the hospital. It was while they were returning when the accident happened.
Both the mother and the driver of the vehicle are assisting the police in investigations.
Meanwhile, the police have impounded the vehicle.
