Few days to end the year 2013, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, general secretary of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), seems to foresee what Ghanaians are likely to go through in 2014 under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, headed by President John Dramani Mahama.
The man also known in political circles as 'Sir John,' has anticipated a “disastrous” 2014 and also noted that the 2013 “hardship” which many, including the president, have admitted to, is just a “teaser”.
According to him, the “Country lacks a good leader, so everything is wayward. Our only hope now is God. 2013 is a corruption year for the NDC and John Mahama government”.
Commenting on the President’s Christmas trip to the United Arab Emirates (UEA) on Madina-based Oman FM, Sir John said Mr Mahama “doesn’t have Ghanaians at heart” and “he (Mahama) does not portray himself as a good leader”.
“2016 is just around the corner, and all that we are praying for is that, the good Lord will continue to strengthen Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to salvage Ghanaians from this catastrophe. 2014 will be disastrous than what we are facing now.”
