Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan says he is fully focused on helping his country qualify for the 2018 World Cup and not concerned about reaching the 50-goal milestone.

Gyan, 29, drew blank against Comoros in a two-legged qualifier to remain at 48 goals as his native country secured qualification to the group stage of the qualifiers.

The Shanghai SIPG attacker is the country's leading all-time scorer and Africas highest scorer at the World Cup.

The former Al Ain goal machine insists reaching the 50-goal milestone is not his ultimate aim going into the final phase of the qualifying campaign next year.

Gyan said: I am not worried (for not reaching that milestone) as we have a lot of games left to play.

As a striker, I am not worried at all. I believe in my qualities and I know what I am capable of doing.

There are more games coming up and I know I am going to make it. I am ready.

The iconic Ghanaian figure is simply a record breaker and he inches closer to an astonishing 100 caps for the West Africans.
