The Northern Regional Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP), Sulley Sambian has observed happenings at the recently held National Youth Conference of the party in Tamale and has indicated that the elephant family shall be victorious in the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections, stressing that even disgruntled members are campaigning for the party.
“The enthusiasm, the euphoria, the energy, the verve, exuded by the grassroots leave me in no doubt that God on our side, Ghanaians will give us another mandate to steer the affairs of governance competently. NPP is in the DNA of the rank and file. Of course they have had occasions to complain about how their expectations are not being met. In some cases threatened not to campaign in 2020, but the same party guys are here in their numbers, supporting the cause of the party,” he observed.
He, however, noted that the NPP government still has a lot to do, arguing that economic dexterity together with divine help is what is needed to change the fortunes of the country.
The NPP executive also warned that though the NPP government has achieved a lot through the implementation of its ambitious programmes and the evidence is visible to all and sundry, “needless and obscene partisanship sometimes prejudicially affect our sense of judgment.”
The National Youth Conference of the NPP held last weekend had nearly all the party bigwigs in attendance, including the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the National Youth Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye and many others.
