The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has advised Ghanaian voters against choosing the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming December 7, 2024, general elections.
He believes that despite the economic challenges in the country, the NDC, which he considers a 'very dangerous' political party, should not be a viable choice for succeeding Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Agyapong highlighted the implementation of the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) program by the Akufo-Addo/Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia-led government, which offers free secondary education to all Ghanaians, is a significant achievement, as reported by myjoyonline.com.
"As a businessman and politician, I understand both politics and business. I acknowledge the current hardships, but when you vote, remember that the NDC is not a viable option—they are very dangerous.
"Be cautious. Under the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government, we've covered fees under Free SHS and even provided uniforms for your children. Even in developed countries, governments don't buy uniforms for students," he stated during a campaign event for Bawumia in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
The Assin Central legislator encouraged Ghanaians to support the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, emphasizing that the economic difficulties they face are not unique to the country.
"I urge all of you to recognize that even developed countries are facing economic crises. Don't be deceived by false promises. Remember the NDC's past governance. Let's all support Bawumia," he urged.
Kennedy Agyapong made these comments after joining Vice President Dr. Bawumia's campaign.
