The son of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings (JJ), Kimathi Rawlings, who is not known for engaging in active politics, joined a campaign event of his party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), on Saturday, July 20, 2024.
Kimathi Rawlings joined his sister Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, the Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey, at a campaign event for the flagbearer of the NDC, former President John Dramani Mahama in Accra.
Kimathi Rawlings was ushered onto the stage by the NDC Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu.
He joined his sister to pump up the crowd at the rally through a series of NDC chants.
He then watched on as his elder sister vociferously urged the crowd to vote for the former president and NDC parliamentary candidates.
Zanetor told the crowd that voting for only Mahama would make his work difficult when he comes to power on January 7, 2024.
She therefore charged Ghanaians to vote for the NDC presidential candidate as well as the party’s parliamentary candidates, so that they would be able to fix the mess caused by the current government as soon as possible.
