The 2024 general elections are gradually nearing their conclusion as the polls have closed in some areas of the country that started on time.
The centers that began the process on time are about to start counting the ballots as the general public eagerly awaits the outcome.
According to GhanaWeb reporters, there has been low voter turnout in some parts of the country as people are reluctant to partake in the electioneering process.
There have been records of violent incidents at various polling centers over controversial issues; however, the police are dealing with such issues to apprehend the culprits.
Per the Electoral Commission regulations, polls close at 17:00 GMT across the nation.
Counting and results declaration are underway following the closure of polls at 5pm across most of the polling centres in the country.
The 2024 elections took place across 276 constituencies in the country, with the process being largely peaceful.
Pockets of violence have, however, been recorded, with one person confirmed dead in the Tolon Constituency in the Northern Region.
The EC has meanwhile urged Ghanaians and political parties to exercise patience as they execute their mandate of delivering a successful election.
