Tempers flared at a polling station in Bomaa in the Tano North constituency as two brothers got into a heated argument over which political party their father should vote for.

The disagreement occurred as the family arrived to cast their votes in the Tano North constituency, drawing attention from other voters and polling officials.

According to eyewitnesses, the argument began when the two brothers, who support opposing political parties, disagreed on which party their elderly father should cast his vote for.

One brother advocated for the ruling party, pointing to its development initiatives in the area, while the other insisted that his father vote for the opposition, citing its promises of better governance and economic reform.

The heated exchange quickly escalated, with both brothers passionately trying to persuade their father to align with their preferred political party.

In the midst of the argument, other voters at the polling station expressed their discomfort at the scene, calling for the brothers to resolve the issue peacefully.

GhanaWeb reports that the father, who had been silently observing the dispute, finally stepped in to calm the situation.

“This is my choice, not yours,” he reportedly said to his sons before entering the polling booth. “I will vote for what I believe is best for me and our community.”

The confrontation was eventually resolved without further incident, though the unusual family dispute left a lasting impression on onlookers.

Local residents have expressed concern about how deep political divides are affecting even personal and family relationships in the run-up to the elections.
