The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, defied rain to campaign at Makola Market ahead of the 2024 elections.
In a video shared by UTV on social media, the Vice President, who aims to secure the highest office in the country, is seen with his campaign team, moving through the market to deliver his message to the people.
A section of the crowd following him was captured praising and cheering him on, with some supporters calling out his ballot position for the December 7, 2024, elections: "He is number 1!"
Meanwhile, Bawumia and his main contender, The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama, are engaged in an exchange over economic management.
Mahama has posed five questions regarding the economy, which he wants Bawumia to address.
In response, Bawumia has countered with 50 questions, reigniting calls for a long-awaited debate between them to tackle these pressing issues.
