The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Krowor Constituency, Joshua Bortey, has expressed optimism over ensuring a chaos-free election in the constituency.

He urged constituents to conduct themselves properly during the voting exercise to avoid being apprehended by the police.

Bortey assured that stringent security measures have been implemented, emphasizing the readiness of law enforcement to maintain order.

"Everything is in order, and I hope and pray nothing occurs outside the law. The police are ready. Anyone attempting to cause chaos or act unlawfully will be provided with a nice place to sleep," he told GhanaWeb.

The MCE added, "I expect a full house. You know the special voting is for security services, the media, and Electoral Commission officers who will be on duty on December 7. As the head of security, I remain in control, although there is an electoral task force. So far, so good."

Bortey also detailed the municipal plan for distributing ballot boxes to voting centres, noting that all political parties have agreed to the arrangement.

"The Assembly will be providing about 16 trucks for distributing the ballot boxes on the 7th. However, we plan to load all the trucks on the evening of the 6th so they can move on the 7th. In the past, we loaded the trucks on the morning of the 7th, which caused delays in delivering the boxes to polling stations.

"The parties have agreed to this arrangement, and the police are in control."

Ghana will head to the polls on Saturday, December 7, 2024, to elect a new president and members of parliament who will lead the country for the next four years.
