Twenty-nine police officers have been interdicted by the police administration for several offences since January 2015.
They are reported to have been involved in police enlistment fraud, unlawful possession of narcotics and failing to perform their duties properly.
Others were also reported to have been involved in indiscriminately firing of firearms, absence from duty without permission and sexual related offences, according to a report by the Ghanaian Times.
The police administration says it won’t condone wrong doing within its folds.
The Police Administration would not shield any police officer who indulges in any misconduct,” Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police DCOP David Ampah-Benin said.
DCOP Ampah-Benin added that some of the officers were either jailed or dismissed.
He also revealed that some district commanders had been tasked to step up their supervisory roles to ensure that their personnel performed their duties in accordance with the laid down regulations.
