Three persons are standing trial at an Accra circuit tribunal for various offences in connection with the leakage of question papers in the just-ended Basic Education Certificate resit examination (BECE).
The three posed as officials of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), in order to sell the papers to supposed parents who turned out to be Bureau of National Investigations operatives.
The court, yesterday, granted the accused, namely Frederick Williams, Emmanuel Quaye Sowah, and Felix Armah Amartey, charged on five counts of conspiracy and possessing forged BECE exams papers, in the sum of ?10million bail each with a surety to be justified.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the offence.
Counsel for second accused, Mr. Turkson, contended that his client possessed 1999 examination question papers and, for that matter, he did not see it to be exams leakages.
