About 300 unpaid teachers in the Brong Ahafo Region picketed the regional office of the Ghana Education Service (GES) over the government’s failure to put them on the public payroll despite serving as teachers for varied periods.

The angry teachers, who currently serve in various districts across the region, say they have not been paid for about two years now, adding that several efforts to get their arrears have proven futile, thus, their decision to picket on Tuesday, 6 November 2018.

Last month, the leaders of the group traveled to Accra to push for their arrears but were left disappointed after they were told the Chief Director was not around.

The spokesperson for the group, Dominic Oppong told Class 91.3FM that they will continue the picketing until the authorities respond to their concerns.
