3G Awards 2019 - Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng to be honored in New York

Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng, a Journalist with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation will be honored at the 9th edition of 3G Awards in New York. The Ambassador Extraordinaire of Ghana Prison was selected by the Board and entire 3G Team proudly accepts the nomination.

The 3G Awards 2019 will be held on Saturday, November 23rd, 2019 starting at 9 pm-3am @ Berean Hall, 1661 Boon Avenue, Bronx NY 10460 (Entrance on E 173 ST).

The event dubbed "A Night of Heroes" recognizes the sacrifice and dedication of the leading trailblazers of the greater Ghanaian and Global communities.

Facts about Ambassador Kwarteng, The Prison Reformer;

A member of the Association of European journalists, AEJ.

The Ambassador Extraordinaire of Ghana Prisons – a position conferred on him by the Ghana Prisons Service Council in recognition of his passion for human rights issues and award presented to him by Ghana’s former President, John Dramani Mahama.

He is the Executive Director of Crime Check Foundation, CCF. Through initiatives like the Petty Offenders and Ex-convicts Reintegration Project, his Foundation has been able to release over three hundred prisoners and provided livelihood support for most of them. CCF’s One Cell One Fan project has ensured that most of Ghana’s forty-four prisons have fans fitted in its cells.

After the launch of the Foundation’s Health Check Series, many Ghanaians who could not pay their hospital bills and others who require surgeries have been supported by the Foundation.

CCF’s Philanthropy Project has also provided various forms of support to widows and children with difficulties.

Through his ‘Contemplation’ series – a programme that projects the role of religion in promoting world peace, he has interviewed a number of British politicians and high-profile personalities in the UK.

He has held a number of high-level stakeholder engagements with members of Ghana’s Justice Delivery Chain, the Executive and

Legislative arms of Government and the Diplomatic Community on ways of amending obnoxious legislation in Ghana’s statute books.

Mr. Kwarteng, a Chevening scholar, holds a BA in English from the University of Cape Coast, MPhil in English from the University of Ghana, Legon and MA in International Journalism (Chevening) from Brunel University, London.
