The Nasara Club Chairman, in an interview with the paper, said though he personally accompanied his brother in-law and cousin (Alhaji Tondi) to plead with the Finance Minister, Osafo Maafo and the Commissioner of CEPS, Mr. Opoku Ntiamoah, about his indebtness to the State, it was after the Commissioner on his own accord had released 10,000 bags of sugar to Alhaji Tondi Abdulai.

He underscored that when he met with the Minister of Finance, he told him how Alhaji Tondi, his cousin and brother in-law, had wanted to pay ?100m every month to the state and how the commissioner had refused to take the cheques because of the bad record of Tondi.

Alhaji Maiga intimated that his cousin and brother in-law, shocked him when he stopped paying the ?100m he was expected to pay every month as discussed with the Minister and Commissioner.
