5 dead, several injured in fatal accident on Yendi-Tamale road

Five persons have been confirmed dead and several persons have suffered varying degrees of injuries after a fatal accident occurred on the Tamale-Yendi road.

According to Northern Regional Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who spoke to MyNewsGH.com, the accident involves a Benz bus with registration number AS 693N and a Neoplan bus with registration number GW2797 S.

He disclosed that both vehicles from opposite directions collided head-on at Puriya close Lidra cashew farms resulting in the fatalities.

Alhaji Mohammed Aminu who is at the scene disclosed that the police has arrived.

“We need the help there though my vehicle is already to the rescue of the some of the victims. You may check at the Yendi hospital as we are heading towards there with some of the injured people. But the drivers are yet to be removed from the buses”, he disclosed.
