President Akufo-Addo is a very affable man and one who likes to create humour even when discussing serious issues.

But even he must have grown accustomed to the trolls that Ghanaians often come up with every now and then.

Indeed, the President has had his own taste of this, especially when it comes to the giving of nicknames.

Since assuming office some two and half years ago, Nana Addo has been given different nicknames – some for positive reasons and others or negative reasons. YEN.com.gh takes a look at 5 nicknames of our President:

1. Clearing Agent

This nickname came about following the clearance of some appointees of the Akufo-Addo government who were allegedly involved in corrupt acts.

Pius Enam Hadzide, former Maritime boss Kwame Owusu and Presidential Staffer Charles Bissue are but a few who have been cleared after being implicated in corruption scandals.

2. Nana Show Boy

Unlike the other nicknames, Nana Akufo-Addo was already known as “Nana Show boy” before he became President.

The sobriquet was bequeathed to him in the build-up to the 2016 elections after he promised to transform the country when elected President.

“My aim is to create jobs in the city and across the country. People will laud me for that rather than changing the capital to my hometown. I will be nicknamed the ‘Show boy’ for that. That is what I want to do,” he once said.

3. King Promise

Perhaps the most controversial among Nana Addo’s nicknames, some people prefer to call him King Promise.

Although the NPP government has so far achieved some of its campaign promises, some still believe President Akufo-Addo is more of a talker rather than an action man.

That led to the birth of the nickname King Promise, which suggests the President likes to make promises.

4. Sacknation

Another nickname of the President is Nana Sacknation. This one is borne out of his tendency to suspend or sack any appointee who errs.

For example, the Public Procurement Authority (PPA), A.B. Adjei, is the latest to be suspended after he was captured in an exposé titled “Contracts For Sale”.

5. Nana Kalyppo

Prior to the 2016 elections, Nana Addo was one of the most trending individuals in Ghana all because of the #KalyppoChallenge.

The then NPP flagbearer was captured in a photo sipping Kalyppo fruit juice.

The opposition NDC tried to use the said photo to mock him but it backfired.

Rather, the photo became an internet sensation with many people buying Kalyppo and taking pictures of themselves sipping the fruit juice.
