The Ghana Malaria Foundation has set for itself a target of US$510 million dollars in a period of five years in an effort to eradicate malaria from the country by the year 2030.

The foundation will target international organisations, private and public sector partners and the general public in the campaign.

Chairman of the 15-member Board of Trustees for the Foundation, Prince Kofi Amoabeng, said the funds raised will support malaria programing and research into alternative means of prevention and treatment of the tropical disease.

Mr Amoabeng made these remarks at the launch of the fundraiser campaign in partnership with the National Malaria Control Programme.

He said “the trustees are happy that we have been able to launch this campaign” and will make every effort to ensure that the target is achieved within the stipulated time.
