70 Years Reign: Togbi Salu III marks platinum jubilee in grand style

The chief of Anlo-Afiadenyigba,Togbi Salu III, marked his 70th year on the Salu stool with a grand durbar on October 5, 2024 amid pomp and pageantry.

The event, a platinum jubilee celebration, was a significant milestone for the chiefdom as other traditional rulers and dignitaries thronged the durbar ground clad in apparels of royalty.

In a vibrant display of tradition, a new Agbotadua Seyram Klinogo (Paramount Chief) and Mama Biana Xormenyae (Queen Mother) were installed to assist Togbi Salu III in managing the chiefdom.

Expressing his gratitude for the new appointments, the chief highlighted the importance of having capable and competent leaders to support his vision.

“I am excited that after 16 years I am going to have a new Agbotadua and Mama. I am grateful to the Klinogo and Dakpo families for nominating capable and competent candidates for these roles,” Togbi Salu said.

Recognizing his role as the traditional custodian of the Anlo-Afiadenyigba land, Togbi Salu III urged elders and residents to prioritize peace and education as essential factors for development and progressive governance.

The event culminated in the inauguration of a state-of-the-art palace and sports complex in Anlo-Afiadenyigba.

The historic occasion was attended by dignitaries including the chairman and council of elders of the Salu stool, Hon. Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey (MP for Keta), Hon. Emmanuel Gemegah (MCE of Keta), Hopeson Adorye (leading member of the Movement for Change), and other traditional leaders.
