By the end of 2027, 70 percent of President Mahama’s Big Push project shall be completed, according to the Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza.

Speaking during the ongoing ‘Resetting Ghana Agenda Tour’ in the Bono Region, the minister disclosed that close to four major roads are currently under construction in the area.

He emphasised that the National Democratic Congress is moving away from the era of making promises that yield no results after four years in office.

Instead, he assured residents that by the end of 2027, nearly 70 percent of the projects initiated under President Mahama’s administration will be completed.

“When you are in Sunyani, you see some road projects going on. When you are in Jinijini, you see some road projects going on. When you are in Brekum, you see some road projects going on.

“…So, now, I want to say one thing. Our work is to be on the field and do the work. And I can guarantee you that by the end of 2027, almost 70% of the Big Push projects shall be completed, including the ones in each region,” Agbodza said.

He continued: “The days are gone when politicians only promise, hoping that people will forget. President Mahama has (sic) all the projects and shall commission them by the end of the year, in June 2028. As I said, I want to say that President Mahama’s Big Push project is on track. Nana, don't have any fear. Jinijini-Sampa shall be completed by President Mahama and many other projects.”

He told the gathering that nearly 50 Big Push projects are currently underway across the country.

In addition, the government has taken over about 24 stalled projects from previous years, reviving them with the aim of bringing them to completion.

Looking ahead, he assured residents that by 2028 the administration will demonstrate accountability for the trust placed in President Mahama, while emphasising that the confidence shown by citizens through their support for businesses and investments will not be in vain.

He also promised tangible results that the government will account for at the end of the period.

“We have about 50 Big Push projects that are going on. We have also absorbed about 24 existing projects which are stalled, which we have taken on, which will be completed, including some in this region.

"All that we are saying is that we thank you very much for having faith in President Mahama. I can guarantee you, your investment, your support, this time around, shall not be in vain. It shall be something that, in 2028, we shall account for,” he added.
