These candidates obtained grade A1 to C6 in at least six subjects including English Language and mathematics (Core).

A statement issued by Agnes Teye- Cudjoe, WAEC Principal Public Affairs officer, and copied to the Ghana News Agency, announced the release of the provisional results of the 2014 may/June WASSCE.

It said, of the total number of candidates who took part in the examinations conducted in 809 schools, 126, 921 (representing 52.41 per cent) were males and 115, 241 representing 47.59 per cent females.

The statement said a total of 1, 447, representing 0.59 per cent of candidates, registered but were absent during the exams.

The statement said: “Following reports of examination malpractices and conclusion of investigations, the entire result of 321 candidates have been cancelled, while 1, 994 had their subjects results cancelled.

“Additionally, the entire results of candidates presented by 36 schools have been withheld, while investigations into alleged examination irregularities are being conducted. The withheld results would be released as soon as the Council concludes its investigations.”

It observed that the Council was in the process of sending the result to schools and advised candidates to contact their heads of schools for their results.

Meanwhile, the Council has posted the results online, and candidates who so desire may access their results at the Council’s website.

“Once again, following a request from the Ghana Education Service, the results of candidates who have outstanding school fees to settle cannot be accessed online on the Council’s website.

The affected candidates can only access their results from their schools,” the statement said.
