98 pass-out at Takoradi Air Force Recruits Training School

Takoradi, Aug. 12, GNA - Commodore Mohammed M. Tahiru, Director General of Training of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has stated that there is no room for individualism in the GAF.

He said team spirit, selflessness, discipline and professionalism, are the hallmarks of all the security agencies in the country.

Commodore Tahiru was addressing a passing-out parade at the Air Force Recruits Training School in Takoradi on Friday, which was witnessed by Mr Joseph Boahen Aidoo, Western Regional Minister. Commodore Tahiru said every military personnel must work hard, become focused, committed and ready to defend the nation, and the people. Commodore Tahiru stressed that the integrity of military personnel should be unquestionable and advised them to make maximum use of the scarce resources at their disposal.

He cautioned the recruits not to maltreat civilians but to treat them as compatriots.

Group captain Kobina Ayisa, Station Officer Commanding the Takoradi Air Force Station administered the oath of allegiance to the 98 recruits. Margaret Adu, Aircraftman Class two (AC2), won the best in tactics and field craft, AC2 Monica Djimateye won the best in weapon training, while Lucy Akoto Adjanor emerged the best in academics.

AC2 Gadile Okata Boafo, who was also the parade commander, won the best in drill, AC2 Freda Aboagye emerged the best female recruit with the overall best recruit award going to Philip K. Hlortsi. They were presented with book prizes. 12 Aug. 05
