The Attorney-General’s Department has given its advice on how the prosecution should proceed with the case involving a 32-year-old self-styled doctor of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, who was arrested four months ago for allegedly raping a 22- year-old student.

This came to light last Thursday when the accused person appeared before a Tema Magistrate Court to answer charges relating to the case.

When the case was called, the prosecution announced that it had received the advice from the Attorney-General’s Department and that it was yet to study the docket.

The announcement prompted the magistrate, Eric Adjei to adjourn the case to March 30, 2015 to enable the prosecution to file a motion in court.

It would be recalled that on July 14, 2014, Woode, a supposed boyfriend of the victim, allegedly lured the lady to his residence and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her in the evening.

A medical report from the Tema General Hospital revealed that the victim sustained injury on her right thigh with discharge from her private part. The hymen was also absent.
