A renowned Ghanaian hiplife artiste Kwame Asare Obeng (A Plus) who takes great interest in rapping and talking about politics and social issues has condemned a campaign strategy employed by some supporters of presidential candidate of the National Democracy Congress (NDC) and incumbent president John Dramani Mahama.

The artiste has expressed his disappointment at how these supporters of the president are pasting the #IchooseJM campaign posters on people’s vehicles without approval and prior notices.

In a short post accompanying a video circulating on social media, A Plus wrote, “It's better to die on your feet than live on your knees.... If people are being stupid say it in their face ... The fact that your government is in power does not give you the power to do whatever you want.”

He revealed that at the just ended VGMA event lot of vehicles packed at the venue were decorated with the #IchooseJM stickers.

“At the event, you come out and to your amazement you meet #IchooseJM campaign stickers on your car. Is it John Mahama who bought the cars for us, or are the cars for John Mahama or the NDC?” he quizzed.

He advises those responsible to put immediate stop to such ‘foolishness and madness’ as it may end innocent individuals in trouble because not everyone in Ghana is allowed to engage in active politics as certain organizations are apolitical.

He gave the Electoral Commission as an example of a body that is restricted from engaging in politics saying, “If people see #IchooseJM stickers on Madam Charlotte Osei’s car with no fault of hers they may believe she’s in for the #IchooseJM too.”

“If you have taken money from a party to distribute campaign stickers ask permission from people before pasting them on their cars and properties or better still stand in traffics or around toll boots on the either the motorway or wherever and distribute them to interested individuals. It is foolishness for you to just get up and paste stickers on cars indiscriminately.”
