A disadvantaged JSS pupil gets tricycle

Tema, Oct. 29, GNA - Needy Elevation Crusaders, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) based in the Eastern Region on Tuesday presented a tricycle to Master Ruben Abaano, 20, a cripple of Twedaase Junior Secondary School (JSS) to facilitate his movement to and from school. Mr Obeng Asare, Founder of the NGO, made the presentation through Mrs Rose Kwapong, Tema Municipal Director of Education, said met the beneficiary one wet evening drenched in the rain from school going home with the aid of clutches.

Mr Asare said he exhorted the boy not to be demoralized by his condition but to be committed to his education He promised that the boy would be assisted through the NGO again, adding that "today, I have fulfilled my dream for 20-year-old Reuben." Mr Asare said the donation was the second after an earlier presentation to a needy child.

Mrs Kwapong advised parents to send their disadvantaged children to school to receive formal education, "because disability is not inability, and that disabled children could also have a better future and contribute to the development of the country."
