ADA also established a modern ICT centre to enhance digital literacy in the community.
The Ahwenease Development Association (ADA), a community-based organisation established in August 2022, has made significant contributions to the development and transformation of Ahwenease, a community in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region.
Founded by committed citizens of the community, ADA was created to champion development initiatives and improve the living conditions of residents. Since its establishment, the Association has undertaken a number of impactful projects focused on education, infrastructure, security and social welfare.
Among its key achievements is the donation of 60 school desks and five teachers’ tables and chairs valued at GH¢14,000 to the Presbyterian Junior High School. The Association has also rehabilitated the community’s kindergarten and primary school buildings to create a more conducive learning environment for pupils and teachers.
In further support of education, ADA established a modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training centre equipped with computers and furniture to enhance digital literacy among students and residents.
The Association has also improved school infrastructure through the concreting and screeding of the forecourts of the community’s two schools. To enhance security and visibility within the area, it installed streetlights at strategic locations across the community.
Additionally, ADA donated football jerseys, footballs and a television set to support both educational and recreational activities in local schools.
These interventions, achieved within a relatively short period since the Association’s formation, have earned widespread praise from residents and stakeholders who continue to acknowledge the group’s commitment to community development.
Speaking on behalf of the Association, Chairperson Charity Anima Offei expressed appreciation to members and supporters for their dedication and contributions to the progress of Ahwenease.
She also appealed to corporate institutions, philanthropic organisations, benevolent individuals and citizens of Ahwenease both at home and abroad to support the Association’s development agenda.
According to her, increased support and partnerships will enable the Association to undertake additional projects that will further accelerate the growth of Ahwenease and contribute to the broader development objectives of the Municipal Assembly and Ghana as a whole.
