Dr Dominic Ayine is the Attorney General and Minister of Justice
The Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has disclosed that the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, will, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, present a key update on the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) initiative under the Mahama administration.
According to Kwakye Ofosu, the Attorney General’s update is expected to finally unveil “Rumble in the Jungle.”
He shared this information in a post on X on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
The session comes amid heightened public interest following the ongoing Ken Ofori-Atta extradition saga, which has dominated headlines and public debates in recent weeks.
On Monday, October 20, 2025, Deputy Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr Justice Srem Sai, revealed that the Attorney General’s Office has written multiple letters to the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), requesting access to the docket of the embattled former Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, as part of efforts to trigger his extradition from the United States.
According to Dr Srem Sai, these requests have yet to be fulfilled on the part of the OSP.
“Mr Ken Ofori-Atta is the subject of several criminal investigations. I think the most well-known is the one being conducted by the OSP, which we are made to believe is at an advanced stage where extradition will be required. Indeed, the OSP has already put a Red Alert notice on him. But the INTERPOL alert is not an extradition procedure. If we really want the person to come, formal steps must be taken.
“I want to make this clear: we [the Attorney General’s Office] are the only authority that can initiate and make an extradition request, but we need the investigative docket from the OSP to do so. As of today, we still don’t have the docket, despite sending several requests, including written letters and formal demands,” the Deputy AG emphasised.
The Deputy Attorney General also stated that despite repeated attempts over the last two months to obtain the docket, the AG’s Office has still not received a response from the OSP.
Meanwhile, AG Dr Dominic Ayine’s address is expected to clarify legal ambiguities and outline the administration’s strategy in handling complex extradition cases, including Ghana’s obligations under international law.
