AAIB has launched investigations into the aircraft crash at Tema
The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) has officially launched investigations into the aircraft crash at the TMA Daycare Centre at Tema Community 1.
The Acting Commissioner of the Bureau, John M K Wumborti, made this known during a visit to the crash site on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

"Yesterday, our team began preliminary information gathering at the site, and today we have collected the wreckage with the assistance of the Ghana Armed Forces. We have also completed all necessary interviews with eyewitnesses, gathering their accounts to aid the investigation.
"The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) are assisting us in clearing the scene and securing evidence. The wreckage is being removed and examined as part of the next phase of the probe to determine the cause of the crash," he remarked.
John Wumborti further noted that the bureau will release a preliminary or final report once sufficient evidence has been analysed.
The light aircraft, registered 9G‑ADV, crashed on Monday, March 16, 2026, killing two people on board.
