On Friday, August 3, 2001, American Singer/songwriter Bryan Thomas will be appearing in concert with a band, including 3 Ghanaians, at EP Church of Ghana Chapel in Kotobabi. The 6 p.m. concert will feature songs from Thomas' upcoming worship album as well as his prior release, from which the song A MAN LIKE YOU became heard nationally on radio stations across the United States.

The concert is a closing ceremonies and graduation for participants in Ghana Worship Workshop 2001, sponsored by EP Church of Ghana, Covenant Theological Seminary, St. Louis, MO, USA, and Anchored Music Ministries. The workshop, held at Christian Leadership Institute in Adenta-Madina, July 30-August 3, is the second cooperative effort between EP Church of Ghana and Covenant Theological Seminary. Several more are anticipated for the future.

Covenant Theological Seminary is the seminary of the Presbyterian Church in America. The hope is that through Covenant's ACCESS, extension training program, pastors and others from EP CHURCH of Ghana will be able to recieve seminary credit for classes taken on sight at Christian Leadership Institute. Participating in Ghana Worship Workshop 2001 from Covenant is Dean of Students and Worship Professor Dr. Mark Dalbey. Also participating is May 2001 graduate Bryan Thomas and alumnus Greg Roig.

Founded in 1995 by Bryan Thomas, Anchored Music Ministries is a nonprofit ministry aimed at helping develop music and worship in the church all over the world. This is its first venture overseas. Founder Bryan Thomas participated in a Covenant Theological Seminary sponsored trip in July 2000 and was so moved and touched by the experience, he was invited to join EP Church of Ghana as a long term missionary in the near future. It was this experience which lead Dr. Seth Gbewonyo of University of Ghana, Legon, to invited Bryan to stage Ghana Worshop Workshop 2001. Planned for a year, the workshop finally comes to reality July 30th. "It is a dream come true to have the opportunity to come back to Accra and work with my church family in Ghana," Thomas says, "From the moment I first stepped off the plane at Kotoki, I have felt Ghana is a second home to me. I am excited to have the privilege of returning."
