Launched January in Atlanta, APINKE Magazine is being embraced by the residents of Atlanta, and a growing nationwide following of people from all African background and others simply interest in Africa the continent. APINKE (pronounced by many as ‘apinkay’) comes from the West African meaning ‘to share and Nurture’. The varied content, neat layout and international contributing experts, is building this magazine to become a fun packed resource educating and entertaining people about the different African nations and culture.
The magazine features a financial column from Robert Kiyosaki, (the best selling financial author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad); It presents eight useful points to know before jumping into the housing market with expert Realtor, Ronke Odugbesan; it showcases Hollywood interview with 24 bad boy, Hakeem Kai-Kazeem (played Dubaku in season 7), and interviews comparable international actors in the aim to highlight issues affecting Nollywood film industry as recently noted on the Opera show.
APINKE Magazine flaunts relationships in a celebration of love and devotion, though its cultural events captured across the globe and presents a ten point guide of loving yourself more, by renowned relationship expert, Michelle M.Hammond.
In addition, a huge amount of research takes the reader to different African destinations in each issue, with the premier issue, placing Ghana in the hot seat, an African destination, chosen as the first country visited by President Obama. It has in a special interview with the Ghanaian Vice President, highlights positive movements by Government and addresses some pressing topics affecting the country. The experience and passion of the Editor and Publisher, Veronica Oladeji are marked in the rapid growth and sharing of this tool across the nation. After moving to the US from London(UK), less than 8 months ago, and not deterred by the 10% unemployment rate, she has quickly created her own opportunity and is building what she plans to be a channel of enlightenment as APINKE shares the African experience one issue at a time.
