Former president of the republic, John Dramani Mahama, has issued a fierce response to the derogatory language US president, Donald J. Trump is reported to have used in Africa and Haiti.
Leaked information from the White House shows that the US president during a secret meeting described Africa and Haiti as a "shithole". Hours after the news broke, there has been a global outrage as world leaders join forces in frowning against the reckless statement of the US president. Taking to his Twitter handle, John Dramani Mahama described the word by Trump as an "insult" indicative of the belief that the "racist" president is running a policy of "Make America White Again".
"Africans and Haitians come from "shithole" countries?...Our AU presidents must respond strongly to this insult," Mahama fumed.
Incidentally, the comments of Donald Trump follow the unfortunate death of a Ghanaian soldier, Emmanuel Mensah who died in the brave attempt to rescue victims of a fire outbreak.
So far, Donald Trump has fiercely denied these reports of using foul language against immigrants of colour despite anger and outrage against him by news makers across the globe.
Africans and Haitians come from ‘shithole’ countries? Isn’t Trump demonstrating that he’s nothing but a racist and pursuing a policy of ‘Make America White Again’? I congratulate Botswana for showing the way. Our AU Presidents must respond strongly to this insult.
