A 17-year-old girl, Marian Lumor, who was allegedly kidnapped at Ho, in the Volta Region on Monday, 21 January 2019, has reunited with her family.
The victim, a student of Sunrise Senior High School in the Ho Municipality, reportedly got missing while she was on her way to pay her school fees at the bank.
After incessant calls to her mobile phone without any response, the distraught family of the victim visited the school and later lodged a complaint at the Ho police station.
Class91.3FM’s Volta regional correspondent, Adudzi Aburu, reported on Thursday, 24 January 2019 that the family later received messages from her purported kidnappers.
On Wednesday, however, a family member saw the girl at Aflao with a male friend and quickly alerted the family at Ho, who then informed the police, who, in turn, went for the girl and transported her back to Ho.
According to the victim, she was given some form of concoction by her kidnappers and did not know what was going on around her until she got to Aflao. She said she then called her friend, a classmate who resides in the regional capital to come to her aid.
The police are investigating the case. They took the victim to the hospital for examination. No signs of harm or torture were detected.
