The head coach of Hearts of Oak, Aboubakar Ouattara, Heart of Lions manager Bashir Hayford, Nations FC’s Kasim Mingle, and Bechem United’s Kwaku Danso have all been nominated for the Ghana Premier League (GPL) Coach of the Month award for November.
Hearts of Oak found new momentum in November under Ouattara. Following a series of unconvincing performances, the Phobians began the month strongly, defeating the 2023 champions, Medeama, in their first game. Ouattara’s side went on to claim two more victories against Vision FC and Karela United, alongside a draw against the 2023 FA Cup champions, Nsoatreman.
In total, Hearts of Oak secured 10 points out of a possible 12 and kept three clean sheets during the period.
Kasim Mingle, although unable to maintain Nations FC’s unbeaten home record, still guided his team to nine points from four matches, including a notable win against record champions Asante Kotoko. Despite their loss to Berekum Chelsea, which ended their home unbeaten streak, Nations FC currently sits second on the league table. They scored six goals and conceded just one in November.
Bashir Hayford, like Aboubakar Ouattara, led his side to three wins and one draw in four matches, scoring five goals in the process. Under Hayford’s guidance, Heart of Lions kept clean sheets in all their games during the month and currently sit third on the league table, ahead of Ouattara’s Hearts of Oak.
Kwaku Danso oversaw one of Bechem United’s best runs of the season, recording three wins and a draw in four games. This remarkable run earned the Hunters 10 points from a possible 12, placing them fifth on the league table, just three points behind leaders Gold Stars. Bechem United scored six goals and conceded three in November.
The Ghana Premier League is currently on a break to allow players and officials to observe the December 7 elections.
