Daniel M Addo, one of the lawyers representing the New Patriotic Party’s Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, widely known as Abronye, has disclosed that his client’s health had deteriorated following his detention.
Speaking to the media on Monday, September 15, 2025, after Abronye was granted bail, he stated that he had prayed to the court to move up the hearing date from September 19 to September 15, 2025, due to his client’s medical condition.

“We came to court, and we prayed that the court approved the time from September 19 to today, which is September 15, because the health of our client is deteriorating.

"My Lord heard our prayer. We prepared a bail application, and it was granted," he remarked.
The accused, who faces one count of publication of false news and one count of offensive conduct conducive to the breach of peace, was subsequently granted bail in the sum of GH¢50,000, with one surety but without justification.
Abronye is required to report to the police once every week.
The case has been adjourned to October 7, 2025.
