Queen Mother for Abura Dunkwa, in the Abura - Asebu KwamanKese district in the Central Region, Nana Afariwa Nyarko III, has sued a Mankessim based Radio station, Osagyefo Fm 106.1 and Basuonkuw of the Abura Dunkwa area for defaming and accusing her of masterminding the killing of the Chief Linguist of the town, Omankyeame Kojo Ankomah and wife Ohemaa Efuah,and is in effect demanding GHc 200, 000.00 for damages caused her, Kweku Bee Abrante of www.ghananewsalert.com can confirm.
This according to the queen mother, is because the people are still tarnishing her image and inciting the people of Abura Dunkwa against her through Osagyefo Fm despite the verdict from the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District Security committee (DISEC) that she has no hands in the killing of Omankyeame Kojo Ankomah and the wife Ohemaa Efuah, after a petitioned was sent to (DISEC).
She also added that, Osagyefo fm 106.1 refused to give out audio recordings of the said interviews that seek to incite her, even though she officially wrote to Osagyefo Fm through her lawyers.
But manager of the Osagyefo Fm, Mr. Rexford Sackey revealed that. They are still in talks to settle the issue amicably.
The suit involves Nana Kwame Esuoku I, Ebusuapanyin Kwame Essuon, Ebusuapanyin Kofi Amponsah, Ebusuapanyin Kweku Okyere, Ebusuapanyin Yaw Kweefua, Ebusuapanyin Kofi Nsaidoo, Ebusuapanyin Ehumbobor, W.A. Quarshie, all of Abura Dunkwa in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese district and Osagyefo Fm 106.1.
The respondents have eight days which ends today, the 25 October 2018, within which to file a response for the suit.
Responding to the suit on Okokroko FM morning bell hosted by Osahene Kwame Dapaah in Cape Coast, Ebusuapanyin Kwame Esuon hinted that, the suit is as a result of the enstoolment of the new Odikro in Abura Dunkwa, Nana Asokwa Kwegyir II. He therefore urged the people of Abura Dunkwa to support them in paying a levy that will be used to pursue the court action.
Checks conducted by Kweku Bee Abrante of www.ghananewsalert.com also revealed that, the new Odikro has not been presented to the Abura traditional council for acceptance the neccessary customarily rights to be performed as a chief.
Gyasehen of the Abura Traditional Area and Acting President of the Abura Traditional Council, Nana Nkwefi VII underscored in an interview with Kweku Bee Abrante that, they have heard the that, a new chief has been installed at Abura Dunkwa but the said chief has not been presented to the Gyasedom.
