As part of efforts to address educational inequalities and empower underserved communities through targeted support and resources, the Janet O. Boadi Foundation is embarking on a targeted mission to ensure broader access to quality education in Ghana and beyond.
In view of this, stakeholders from various sectors gathered to discuss the critical need for inclusive education at a launch event held in Accra on October 22, 2024.
The keynote address was delivered by Professor Joseph Awetori Yaro, Provost of the College of Humanities at the University of Ghana.
His addressed emphasised the transformative power of education in reducing poverty and fostering socio-economic development, underscoring the importance of inclusive systems that leave no community behind.
Janet Osei-Boadi, Executive Director of the foundation, articulated her commitment to closing the educational gap, stating, “Education is a fundamental right and a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. We aim to ensure that all children, especially those from underserved communities, have access to the resources and support they need to succeed.”
The foundation’s initiatives include scholarships, provision of learning materials, teacher training programs, and community-driven educational projects.
It also plans to launch its first major project in the Northern Region of Ghana, where it will distribute educational materials and provide workshops for teachers to improve teaching effectiveness.
The foundation’s mission reflects a broader effort to enhance educational opportunities for marginalised communities, with the ultimate goal of enabling every child to realise their full potential, regardless of their background.
Through strategic partnerships with local and international organisations, the foundation seeks to amplify its impact and create sustainable, long-term change in Ghana's educational landscape.
