America on Wednesday honoured two Ghanaian pastors for their outstanding contribution to humanitarian services.

In addition, Doctors of Divinity Degrees have been conferred on them. They are Reverend Dr. Charles Abban, General Overseer of the Miracle Rock Church International, and Reverend Dr. Robert Agyei Addo, General Overseer and founder of Original Word Ministry.

The ceremony, coincided with the Second Annual International Women Conference of the Miracle Rock Church International under the theme: "Releasing Women to receive the harvest for such a time." Presenting the awards, Rev Dr. Barbara Moore, Executive Director of the University, said the honour was in recognition of their outstanding achievements to humanity.

Rev. Dr Moore urged all, especially women, to develop their abilities in order to contribute to the socio-economic development of the nation. She said women play an important role within the society, hence, "they should not look down on themselves," adding, "women should be bold and courageous to take up challenges facing them."

Rev. Dr Moore noted that God has built so many potentials in women but said most women tend to give excuses and even doubt their abilities. She, therefore, urged them to do away with fear, and be courageous at all times.

Rev Dr Abban, who is also the Director of Miracle Rock Medical and Research Centre, thanked the University for the honour, and pledged that they would not relent in their efforts in supporting the less privileged in society.

He said his church had begun outreach programmes on the prevention of HIV/AIDS, and counselling to the public, and urged all and sundry to join the campaign against the fight against the pandemic.

Rev. Dr. Abban, who is also the founder of the Miracle Rock Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, said his outfit was soliciting funds to enable members to administer free drugs to HIV/AIDS patients. He announced the establishment of a Global Bible University campus in Ghana to boost the provision of private University education in the country.
