A fire broke out in the early hours of Monday, August 4, 2025, at the Accra Tourist Information Centre, a location situated opposite Afrikiko, according to a report by myjoyonline.com.

The blaze, which began around 1:00 A.M., has caused significant damage to parts of the facility, including one of the popular Rockz Waakye food joints operating on the premises.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded promptly and are still working to bring the situation under control. As of now, the exact cause of the fire remains unknown.

Eyewitness accounts suggest the flames may have started in the kitchen area of the Rockz Waakye outlet, although this has not been officially confirmed.

No injuries or fatalities have been reported.

Images and videos shared on social media captured large plumes of smoke and the active firefighting efforts.
