The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana and the President of the Executive Committee of the Association of African Election Authorities (AAEA), Jean Mensa will host a delegation comprising women Chairpersons from eight Election Management Bodies (EMBs) in Africa, namely Cape Verde, Liberia, Ethiopia, Malawi, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, on August 5 and 6 2024 in Accra.

A press statement signed by the Deputy Chairman of Operations, Samuel Tettey, on July 31, 2024, said the meeting would be held under the auspices of the United Nations Development Programme's Regional Service Centre for Africa and the United Nation's Electoral Assistance Division in collaboration with International IDEA, the Association of African Election Authorities, and the Electoral Commission of Ghana.

“The meeting aims at offering an opportunity for Women leaders of EMBs to establish a continental network of Senior Electoral Administrators to foster peer support among women in Election Management Leadership in Africa. Additionally, the meeting will seek to review international and regional normative frameworks on women's political participation in Africa,” it added.
