A number of principal streets in Accra have been engulfed with filth after the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The Ghana News Agency on Wednesday observed that during a tour in the various streets of the capital.
For some time now, the city had been free of filth until the recent littering of the streets.
Mr Richmond Baffour, a trader along the Tema Station Street, who spoke to the Ghana News Agency, said the garbage on the streets were dumped by those he referred to as ‘Junk Boys who usually take money from the heads at the various bus stations to collect the rubbish but, end up dumping the filth on the streets instead of disposal points.
Mr Baffour said the boys did such things at night when people were not around.
The situation was however better on some streets in the city, especially at the Ministries area.
