The Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, has emphasized the role of the Greater Accra Region in determining the outcome of the 2024 elections.

Speaking at a ceremony held at his palace on June 25, 2024, he highlighted the upcoming December 7 elections as the most significant in the history of the Fourth Republic of Ghana, stressing the region’s decisive influence due to its status as the nation's capital.

"In this year's elections, Accra will decide. Accra will decide, and I want to say this: it is the most important election in the whole Fourth Republic," the Ga Mantse said.

He called on all political parties to maintain peace and unity during the electoral process to preserve national cohesion.

"But we need to understand that we are Ghanaians and also need to understand that we must refrain from being used to hurt each other," he added.

Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II praised the recent exchange of visits between himself and Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II as a symbol of unity and a foundation for peace.

"Recently, you saw what Opemsuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, came to do with me. I went to Kumasi to pay my respects to him as a big brother of mine; he came here to pay the same honest respect to me," he recounted.

"This that we jointly did must not be taken for granted. It is for the peace of the state. Charity begins at home. If we as chiefs cannot see reasons to come together to keep our brotherhood and keep our peace, how can you talk to a nation to be peaceful?" he questioned.
