There’s a wise saying in Africa that “you don’t talk when there’s food in your mouth”. There’s yet another saying “you don’t bite the hands that feed you”.

This appears to be the situation in this picture with the comatose OccupyGhana General, Ace Anan Ankomah, who has earned a dinner between President Nana Akufo-Addo, his cousin Ken Ofori-Atta and his wife, Angela Ofori Atta.

Also on the same table are, Vice-President Mahammudu Bawumia, his wife, Samira Bawumia and two other ladies; one of who is believed to be the wife of Ace Ankomah, a Private legal practitioner of Bentsi-Enchill, Letsa & Ankomah.

His OccupyGhana movement is currently defunct. It had taken on the Mahama administration, searching and screaming corruption in every government policy, posing as independent and non-political voices.

It was made up of Franklin Cudjoe, Yofi Grant, who is now the Chief Executive of the Ghana Investments Promotion Center (GIPC), Ken Ofori-Atta, who is the Finance Minister, George Andah, who is a Deputy Minister for Communication and several others.

They had sued the Auditor General over audit reports alleging corruption cover up, taken the Smarttys re-spraying and branding of 116 new buses for the Ministry of Transport crying corruption in the payment to the private company owned by Selassie Ibrahim for the work done and paid for by the state.

The Smarttys Management and Productions Limited and its lawyers, decided against going to court, and agreed with the Attorney General to pay back some of the money, thereby refusing to be belligerent.

Same OccupyGhana, had also taken on the Mahama administration, describing the government’s reasons for hosting the two former Guantanamo detainees, as weak.

They pressed the fear and panic button, saying Ghana hosting Bin Atef and Al-Dhuby, risks the country and its citizens worldwide being viewed by terrorists organisations as collaborators with the United States in its fight against terrorists such that the country and its citizens, may be targeted for terrorist attacks.

The OccupyGhana advocacy on corruption, maladministration and bad governance, has since died down, as many of its key members are now appointees of the Akufo-Addo government.
