Ho, July, 7, GNA - Some activists of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ketu-South constituency have petitioned the national secretariat of the party to order a re-run of primaries held in the constituency recently, failing which they would advise themselves. They claimed that the primaries, which elected Mr Albert Zigah, a Transport Owner as candidate was fraught with anomalies, making the whole exercise "disgusting".

A total of 132 activists from various wards of the constituency signed the petition, which was addressed to the national, regional and constituency chairmen of the party, and copied to Professor John Evans Atta Mills, the NDC flag-bearer and ex-President Jerry Rawlings the founder.

The petition said the constituency executives and Colonel Charles Agbenaza, MP for the constituency actively supported Mr Zigah.

It threatened that if the party hierarchy did no act on the issue, "we may campaign for Professor Mills as President and another candidate as MP or ask one of the losers who is more competent than the winner to stand as an independent candidate.
