Adaklu Kodzobi commended for self-help initiatives

Mr. Emmanuel Sky Ganaku, Adaklu District Chief Executive at the weekend commended the people of Adaklu Kodzobi for their self-help spirit.

He observed that while other communities looked up to government to provide them with social amenities, Adaklu Kodzobi, rather initiated and looked for funds to execute development projects.

Mr. Ganaku made the commendation when he commissioned a 20-seater community water closet toilet with two public baths during the 2014 edition of Bliza (Corn festival).

The projects were funded by the Fundamental Baptist Fellowship Association of the USA (FBFA) at an estimated cost of 60,000 Ghana cedis with the community providing labour.

This year’s festival was on the theme “Education, key to development – the roles of stakeholders”.

Mr. Ganaku enumerated other projects including classroom blocks, the provision of potable water and electricity as evidences of the self-help spirit of Adaklu Kodzobi and urged the community to keep up the self-help enthusiasm.

He said the District Assembly was prepared to assist any community in the District, which would initiate development project as part of the agenda to transform the district.

Togbe Dzegblade IV, Chief of Adaklu Kodzobi praised FBFA for assisting the community in addressing issues of sanitation, health, education and the economic empowerment of the people.

He urged the people in the district to pay their levies and rates to the Assembly to enable it generate enough revenue to be able to execute its development agenda.

Togbe Gbogbi Atsa V, Paramount Chief of Adaklu asked the people of Adaklu to unite and create a peaceful atmosphere for development.

Mr. Matthew Wormenor, Chairman of the festival planning committee, reminded parents to prepare their children for the future by paying for their educating.

Mr. Victor Ayime, a retired High Court Judge who chaired the function, exhorted the youth to eschew all vices that would retard their progress and rather cultivate the habits of respect for the elderly,

Over 6,500 Ghana cedis was realized in an appeal for funds.
