The Adansi Rural Bank Limited at Fomena in the Adansi North district of Ashanti Region has renewed its commitment to corporate social responsibility.

The bank has built a 6-seat toilet facility at a cost of approximately GH¢34,000 and handed it over to the Dompoase Demonstration Primary School during a short but colourful ceremony at Fomena in the Ashanti Region.

The bank has over the years continued to strengthen its commitment in corporate social responsibility. This according to the board and management of the bank is to deepen the relationship it has with the community, and also to help improve educational facilities of the schools within its operational territories.

Chairman of the bank’s Board of Directors Mr. Ahmed Kwame Boakye, who inaugurated and handed over the facility to the school, said the bank is committed to supporting development projects in its catchment areas -- particularly in education.

According to him, the children’s welfare and wellbeing is so dear to the heart of the Bank and it will do everything within its ability to support children of school going age to achieve greater heights in education.

He advised children of the Dompoase Demonstration Primary School, who are direct beneficiaries of the facility, to be more serious with their academic work and desist from watching movies -- particularly telenovelas that are shown at a time that coincides with when they are supposed to be learning.

He disclosed that there are a lot more projects earmarked for construction within the bank’s operational territories. Critical among the projects is a police post to house policemen and beef-up security on the highway to curb armed robbery within the Adansi district and its environs.

The authorities of the school were grateful to the bank’s Board of Directors for honouring their request, and promised to maintain the facility.

In another development, the bank has donated 6 pieces of 32-inch LED Flat-screen colour televisions and 6 table-top refrigerators valued at GH¢10,000 to six education directorates toward the upcoming 2014/2015 Teachers’ Awards.
