Sikaman (Ash), March 29, GNA - The Adansi South District Assembly spent more than four billion cedis under the District Assemblies Common Fund to undertake a number of development projects last year. Mr Dominic A.K. Speaking at an Easter fund-raising rally in aid of an electrification project at Sikaman on Saturday, Mr Yeboah said the Assembly last year purchased 500 low-tension poles for distribution to some communities.
Sikaman needs 30 million cedis for the purchase of some low-tension poles to extend electricity to other parts of the community that are not enjoying power.
The DCE pledged that the Assembly would support them with 10 poles. He further announced that the Assembly would construct six-unit teachers' quarters estimated at over 600 million cedis for the community to solve teacher-accommodation problems.

He said plans were underway to ensure the supply of potable water to the people in the constituency this year. Mr Appiah-Pinkrah further said he was collaborating with some agencies to assist communities that initiated school or health projects with some building materials.
The MP called for serious community involvement and participation in all communal activities to facilitate the development of the new constituency.

Nana Abankwah Ababio, Sikamanhene, commended the Kufuor government for the supply of electricity to the town.
He, however, noted that since the town was growing, there was the need for all the sections of the community to get power hence the need to raise funds for the purchase of at least 20 poles. Ten million cedis was realised at the function.
