Frances Essiam is not only a succulent damsel but also, very knowledgeable, well educated, fearless, caring and have genuine concerns for the wellbeing of the citizens of Ghana. Ghanaians will recall that Frances has been through hell when she was in arm-on-shoulder fellowship with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party. The NDC gave her a bloody good hiding when she stood up to challenge the instituted barriers to internal democracy within the party. This happened at one of their Congress meetings slated for choosing a flag bearer for their party. As the “Kasa preko” Rawlings with his hawkish “Yes Sir, Master” large following wanted to impose then contestant Professor Evans Atta Mills on the party, Frances opted to side with Dr. Obed Asamoah. Dr. Obed Asamoah contested Professor Mills for the NDC flag bearer slot. This angered Rawlings and his ferocious human tigers and lions within the party, hence leading to the fallout with Frances Essiam and the subsequent hell she went through – a bloody nose. This is just by the way.
Any human being that dwells permanently on the pains or the glories of his or her past is a failure. You need always to look forward to where you are going, then move on, using where you are coming from only as a perfect confidence-inducing springboard. Frances Essiam saw a beckoning bright star in the sky. She never hesitated to follow it. It guided her to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and there she has remained for the past many years.
As she has always championed the cause of fundamental human rights for the Ghanaian citizenries, she felt the best way to quicken the realisation of such efforts is for her to be in Parliament. This selfless woman is determined to be of service to her people regardless the odds, hurdles intentionally placed in her way and the obligatory concomitant insomnia to suffer. She has subsequently filed her certificate of candidacy with the Electoral Commission to contest with others from the rival political parties for the Adenta Constituency parliamentary seat on the ticket of the NPP for the upcoming December 7, 2012 general election.
Some of the obstacles she needs overcoming are the crumbs falling from the gargantuan judgment debt payment table that the NDC are feeding to the constituents of Adenta. The NDC are supposedly “spraying” money on the constituents same as Nigerian “Ogas” do at their “ostentatiously organized birthday/marriage parties, popularly called in their local parlance as “miliky”. Although money talks in most situations, I will earnestly appeal to my fellow Ghanaians in Adenta to let honesty, purpose for the future for themselves and their children take precedence over the short-lived meagre financial baits the NDC are throwing at them.
The financial inducement baits the NDC are giving to you today is like morning dew that dissipates with the rising Sun. How long will this one-off offer last you? Frances Essiam is out there to help you with how to go fishing but not to feed you with fish. Once she teaches you how to fish, she has quenched your hunger for fish forever. He who feeds you fish can capriciously withdraw their services. Once you have acquired the knowledge of fishing, it will serve you for the rest of your days on earth. That acquired knowhow can never be removed from you. It has become yours to keep forever. The reference to fish is a speech in parables to emphasise the point I am putting across.
The free Senior High Secondary (SHS) is a model of showing you how to acquire knowledge to stand strongly on your feet for ever. However, the NDC are telling you it is not achievable. Nothing apart from perpetuation of official corruption to the detriment of the general public, by the NDC, is possible to them.
I plead with my fellow Ghanaians at Adenta to choose wisely between Frances, the ray of hope, and the NDC candidate of “can’t do cum nothing is possible”. Which one will you go for? The selfless one with feasible visions and has the means to implement them ,or the selfish one who sits on his arse saying “it is not possible”, yet continues to amass illegal wealth to the detriment of infrastructural and human resource development?
I am today sharing the following noble view with the people of Adenta constituency and the reading public in general. “Where there is a will, there is always a way” This saying buttresses the contention that the free education for all as proposed by Nana Akuffo-Addo is achievable. Determination backed by positive action is the key to success. Frances Essiam is more than able to bring better things to the constituents of Adenta so please vote massively for her and Nana Akuffo-Addo come December 7, 2012.
I was not only impressed with her physical appearance but how knowledgeable and well determined she is to be of absolute service to the people of Adenta in particular and Ghana in general. She articulates her policies very well. Her presence at the first year anniversary of the “Nana Addo Ladies Club”, UK branch on the night of Saturday, 20th October 2012, at Edmonton Green Shopping Hall, London, sparked the party.
Frances Awurabena Essiam all the way to Parliament on December 7, 2012, so please help. Every little help that can make her dream come to pass is welcome. The greatest help will come from the electorates in Adenta by way of letting their thumps speak in her favour on the D-Day. Her supporters have talked the talk. Now is the time to walk the walk.
