Accra, Oct. 4, GNA - The Reverend Prince Tefe, Synod Clerk of the Global Evangelical Church has added his voice to the call on the government to develop an effective national youth policy, which would ensure a fruitful future for the youth.

He expressed regret that previous governments had paid very little attention to issues concerning the future of the youth who are the nation's future touch bearers. Rev. Tefe made the call at the Fifth anniversary celebration of the Adenta Grace Family Chapel of the church at Adenta in Accra on Sunday. The celebration is on the theme: "Come Let us build a larger place."

Rev. Tefe said the youth as future leaders must be resourced to enable them to develop their potentials. "If the potentials of the youth are not tapped, it would be very difficult for them to take up the mantle in future," he said, adding that "the better Ghana we are yearning for would be in vain". He called on stakeholders to consider involving the youth in developmental debates.

The Synod Clerk urged parents to take active interest in the education of their children to enable them to grow to become useful citizens. Professor Elom Dovlo, Director of the Global Theological Seminary, called on the members to contribute meaningfully to the activities of the church. 4 Oct. 09
