Constituency and polling station executives of the main opposition NPP have convened emergency meetings in four regions of the country to deliberate on calls for the impeachment of the party’s national chairman Paul Afoko and General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong.
Starr News’ Ashanti regional correspondent Isaac Bediako Justice reports that the Ashanti regional chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as chairman Wontumi is chairing one of the meetings which is being held at the Georgia Hotel in Kumasi.
There are reports that similar meetings are underway in the Central and Western regions.
Starr News has, however, gathered that supporters of the two beleaguered executives have stormed out of the meeting in Kumasi.
Afoko and Agyepong have been accused of masterminding the killing of the party’s Upper East regional chairman Adams Mahama.
Mr Mahama died Thursday after he was showered with acid by some unknown assailants.
He was buried on Saturday in Bolgatanga where the attack took place.
One person believed to be the brother of the national chairman Paul Afoko is in police custody
